Sharing Our Strengths Together

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

On October 22nd, 2010 the entire staff at Merrick Design and Build will join with Rebuilding Together Montgomery County, Choice Hotels and other individuals and companies to assist two families in Montgomery County whose homes are in dire need of repairs and renovations.

The first home needs a new toilet and vanity and lacks a working dryer. Some walls require repair and painting. The outside work includes replacing the roofs on the house and shed and other tasks.

The second home has been cited for code violations that require repairs for which the family is unable to pay. A collapsed garage needs to be dismantled and removed and retaining walls need to be demolished and rebuilt.  There is also a large amount of outside work to be done.

Rebuilding Together Montgomery County (RBTMC) is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to helping elderly and/or disabled low-income homeowners, and families with children through home renovation and repair. (More)

Merrick Design and Build has been actively involved with RBTMC since 1991. I began as a House Captain and then become a member of the board. Later, I served as president of the board and then, chairman of the board. Today, I serve as chairman of the Advisory Board.

It’s a natural fit for Merrick to support RBTMC, as it allows us to share our strengths in construction and remodeling and continually assist area homeowners in need.

If you’d to join our efforts with RBTMC, contact me at 301-946-2356.
